University of Illinois Engineering Open House
Engineering Open House (EOH) is the largest two day engineering
showcase that opens the doors of the University of Illinois's
engineering buildings and labs to demonstrate, educate and
amaze the roughly 20,000 visitors with engineering marvels.
EOH is designed to be fun for all ages, with simple, hands-on
experiments for children to the latest advanced technologies
from our research labs and everything between. This event
has been a part of the College of Engineering for over a
century. The Engineering Open House is a two day event that
starts on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 9am to 4pm and continues
on Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 9am to 3pm. The event is
held on the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College
of Engineering campus (1308 W. Green Urbana, IL 61801). Engineering

College bound seniors and FAFSA
All seniors who are planning to go to college or tech school
this fall should fill out the Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA). This is the first step to applying for
financial aid at all colleges and accredited trade schools.
Families are encouraged to fill out the FAFSA, even if they
do not think they will be eligible for aid, as most colleges
use the FAFSA as part of their institutional aid and students
must do the FAFSA in order to apply for low-interest student
loans.
For more information on the FAFSA, go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ . If you need assistance with the FAFSA, please see Mrs. Young
for available resources.
National Honor Society
Sophomores, juniors and seniors who are academically eligible
to apply for National Honor Society will be given letters
on Monday, March 15. Those who wish to apply may obtain an
application form in the guidance office. Students are chosen
to be in National Honor Society based on their academics,
leadership, character, and service. All completed application
forms are due on or before March 26th to Mrs. Young, NHS
chapter advisor.
